Re: imitone Beta 0.10.0a

Hi,

Vst in Reaper = 35% cpu (the project does not run)
Vst in Bitwig =    5% cpu (no problem here)

Why is there so much difference in cpu use?

Thanks!

Re: imitone Beta 0.10.0a

We haven't changed our VST since 0.9.2.  We are preparing to give the VST a major facelift, though.

If I had to take a guess, the excess CPU usage results from the input to the VST being silent — it causes floating-point denormalization which tanks performance.  Perfectly silenced input a situation that is rare for the app but common in plugin environments.  The solution would be to set up the imitone plugin's track so it is always receiving microphone input unless the plugin is suspended.

Re: imitone Beta 0.10.0a

Ey Evan,

Just before you wrote me I had discovered that arming the track (active recording), the cpu consuptiom dropped from 40 % to 4-5%,  which is normal. So you're totally right. Thanks for your quick response.
